Alice Wolohan Hohmann Endowed Collection in the Arts

The Alice Wolohan Hohmann Endowed Collection in the Arts was established in 1986 by the Wolohan family, which has had a relationship with Notre Dame for more than half a century. The Wolohans joined together to create an endowment in memory of one of the family’s matriarchs, Alice, whose countless good deeds, kindness, and caring nature were an inspiration to the entire family. The Alice Wolohan Hohmann Endowed Collection in the Arts was the first endowed library collection restricted to the ever-growing area of the arts and has proved to be a catalyst, particularly in the visual arts.

The Alice Wolohan Hohmann Endowment supports both print and media acquisitions, with particular focus on video. This rapidly growing collection, which greatly enhances Film, Television, and Theatre holdings, continues to be a resource to students and faculty across the University, providing a vast traditional history of film, in addition to a growing list of international offerings, television compilations, and resources focusing on animation and documentary study.

The Wolohans also support the Thomas and Charlotte Wolohan Collection in Architecture.
