David H. and Denise C. Brenner Family Library Endowment Fostering Innovative Learning Initiatives

The David H. and Denise C. Brenner Family Library Endowment was established in 1995 by Notre Dame graduates, David (’73) and Denise Crowley (’76) Brenner, in honor of their parents. Dave has spent his career fostering entrepreneurial initiative and most recently came back to Notre Dame to serve as executive director of Innovation Park. He has been part of the Irish Angels network since inception and is also a longstanding member of the Gigot Advisory Board.

Denise enrolled with the first class of women at Notre Dame. She has devoted herself to a life of service at home and in the church and community. The Brenners have three children: David (’05), Marie (’08), and Cindy (’09).

The multi-purpose Brenner Endowment is intended to foster innovative learning and research initiatives in technology, facilities, and approach. The endowment has provided funds to support the progression of information technology at Notre Dame, and the impact on the quality of research and education at the University has been immeasurable.

With the help of the endowment, the Information Technologies Division has been able to initiate several cutting edge services, including a video streaming service and a “next generation” discovery system for both print and electronic resources which have just been released (OneSearch). Having access to resources such as these not only advances each individual scholar’s work and expertise, but his or her entire field.
