Jeanne and Edward Arnold Library Endowment in Science and Engineering

The Jeanne and Edward Arnold Library Endowment in Science and Engineering was established in 2006 by Edward H. “E.H.” Arnold (’61), and his wife, Jeanne, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. E.H. is the former chairman, chief executive officer and president of Arnold Industries Inc. Jeanne retired as the senior vice president of patient care services at Good Samaritan Hospital.

E.H. has been a member of the Hesburgh Libraries Advisory Council at Notre Dame since 1991. He and Jeanne have created several other endowments within the Hesburgh Libraries including the Edward H. Arnold Family Endowment for Germanic Studies, the Arnold Library Endowment for Digital Access, and the Edward H. Arnold University Librarian

The Arnold Endowment in Science and Engineering plays a vital role in providing comprehensive resources that support the research and scholarship of Notre Dame students and faculty as they work to develop new global solutions for healthcare, energy usage, transportation, information transfer, and the environment. The Arnold Collection allows the University to cover the ever-rising cost of a sizeable collection of journals necessary for work in these fields, thus enabling essential access to the latest advancements being made in research facilities around the world.
