John Hrycko Family Endowment Fund

The John Hrycko Family Endowment was established in 1996 by Notre Dame parent John Hrycko. John, a graduate of Western Michigan University, is president of Dowagiac Commercial Press, Inc. At Notre Dame, he is a longstanding member of the Sorin Society. His two oldest daughters, Noelle and Elizabeth, are Notre Dame graduates, and his youngest daughter, Robin, is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College. John has also established the John Hrycko Family Endowed Collection in French Studies and the John Hrycko Family Endowed Collection in Eastern European Studies.

With the help of the versatile John Hrycko Family Endowment, the Hesburgh Libraries have the financial flexibility to support the University’s academic excellence by supplying resources of commensurate quality for Notre Dame’s many user groups. The fund serves many purposes which include being a reliable and constant source of support for special acquisition opportunities and for funding programs and services which would otherwise have no possibility of coming to fruition. It fulfills the Hesburgh Libraries’ need for unrestricted endowment support to stay abreast of the many and varied information needs of Notre Dame’s undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty in an era of escalating costs, rapidly proliferating information, and a constantly changing technological environment.
