Laura K. & Theodore S. Weber, Sr. Family Endowed Collection for Penguin Books

The Laura K. and Theodore S. Weber Sr. Family Endowed Collection for Penguin Books was established by Ted Weber Jr. in honor of his parents, whose example encouraged his lifelong love of books. Ted Weber Jr., who graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame in 1945, retired as executive vice president of administration and staff services at McGraw-Hill, Inc., where he was also a member of the board of directors. At Notre Dame, Ted is a member of the Sorin Society and the Badin Guild. He and his late wife, Dorothy, raised four sons, one of whom is a 1974 graduate of Notre Dame. Now retired, Ted resides in San Francisco.

Thanks to this fund, the Libraries are now home to 12,000 Penguin publications, a collection that includes all but 49 of some 5,000 titles published from 1935 to 1965, as well as foreign issues, proofs, various other special materials, and thousands of books published after 1965.

The Webers have also established the Dorothy and Ted Weber Jr. Family Collection: The Retrospective Fund for the College of Arts & Letters and the Ted Weber Jr. Family Collection Advancing the Catholic Intellectual Heritage.
