The Sullivan Family Library Endowment

The Sullivan Family Library Endowment, established in 2005, supports scholarship and research in the humanities through collection development and services for the Hesburgh Libraries. Kevin and Judith hail from Las Vegas and are the parents of two daughters, Diane (’09) and Laura.

The Sullivan Endowment enables the Libraries to build its resources of past centuries, including novels, memoirs, travel narratives, newspapers, and popular periodicals. Many are accessible electronically, in microform, in reprint, and in some cases even the originals have been obtained. It is equally important that the materials are managed well, so funding is also applied to accessibility, preservation, and the interpretation of materials to current and future students, faculty, and scholars worldwide.

Funding from the Sullivan Endowment has made possible the purchase of Harper’s Weekly, Print Confidential Latin America, and Encyclopedia of Islam, not to mention classics, films, and retrospective French fiction. A number of electronic resources have also been added to the collection, providing access to streaming media content. These titles include Dance in Video, World History in Video, and Anthropology Online.
