Thomas and Charlotte Wolohan Collection in Architecture
The Thomas and Charlotte Wolohan Collection in Architecture was established in 1996 by Thomas R. Wolohan (’58) to honor his parents, Thomas and Charlotte, and their commitment to higher education.
Now retired from his position as vice president for corporate development of the Wolohan Lumber Co., Tom lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his wife, Margaret. At Notre Dame, he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Hesburgh Libraries, the Sorin Society, the Badin Guild, and the Notre Dame Club of Greater Sarasota. Tom has eight children: Tom, Jack, Sarah Watson (’87), Bob, Peter (’89), Mary Wherley, Noreen Wolohan-Jackson (’92), and Rosemary Wolohan-Gorman (’96).
The Thomas and Charlotte Wolohan Collection in Architecture continues to strengthen the Hesburgh Libraries holdings in books, journals, and electronic resources necessary to keep Notre Dame’s School of Architecture in the upper echelons of academic excellence. It is the policy of the Architecture Library to purchase every book requested by students, and funding from the Wolohan Endowment make this possible.
The Wolohans have also supported the Hesburgh Library renovation, the Alice Wolohan Hohmann Endowed Collection in the Arts, and the Thomas Wolohan Legal Aid Fund in the Law School.
