Berasi Family Library Endowment in Business and Health

The Berasi Family Library Endowment in Business and Health was established in 2006 by Notre Dame parents Carl and Louise (Doyle) Berasi. The Berasi family resides in Ohio, but the University of Notre Dame has long been a second home. Carl and Louise have sent all three of their children — Lauren (’07), Carl (’09), and Steven (’10) — to the University for their education and wanted to begin a family tradition of giving back to Notre Dame.

Carl is a successful physician and vice president of OrthoNeuro, Inc., and Louise is an equally successful ophthalmologist and senior partner at Mid Ohio Eye.

The Berasi Family Endowment plays an important role in developing strong business and science collections in all areas of interest to the University by funding library resources, programs, and services in support of essentials in healthcare for the global community. It is making a difference not only to those who study, teach, and research here at Notre Dame, but also to the global community, as Notre Dame’s graduates and researchers go on to practice, to heal, to teach, and to perpetuate what they have learned.

One example of a resource this endowment helps to fund, is a subscription to SciBX (Science-Business eXchange) which provides an analysis of the scientific content and commercial potential of the most important translational research.
