Thomas and Anne Wamser Family Endowment in Architecture

The Thomas and Anne Wamser Family Endowment in Architecture was established in 1991 by Thomas and Anne Wamser.

Thomas Wamser, president and chief executive officer of Proteus Packaging Corporation, and his wife, Anne, are residents of Shorewood, Wisconsin, during the summer and Naples, Florida, in winter months. Tom attended Marquette University, and Anne is a graduate of Mount Mary College. At Notre Dame, Tom serves on the Hesburgh Libraries Advisory Council. The Wamsers, members of the Sorin Society, have two daughters: Jennifer (’94) and Colleen (’98).

The Wamser Family Endowment in Architecture fosters resources in historic American architecture and building renovation, particularly the acquisition of most of the components of the HABS (Historic American Buildings Survey) microfiche edition. Also because of the Wamser Endowment, the Hesburgh Libraries have been able to gradually acquire critical-to-the-collection classics in American architecture, such as George O. Garnsey’s The American Glossary of Architectural Term, and enhance architecture holdings to include some of the earliest printed architecture texts.

Additionally, the Wamsers have endowed the Thomas and Anne Wamser Scholarship, the Thomas and Anne Wamser MBA Fellowship, and the Wamser Family Library Endowment: Honoring the Liberal Arts Tradition
