Arnold Library Endowment for Digital Access

The Arnold Library Endowment for Digital Access was established in 2007 by Edward “E.H.” (’61) and Jeanne Arnold of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. E.H. has been a member of Notre Dame’s Hesburgh Libraries Advisory Council since 1991. He and Jeanne have created a number of other endowments that enhance the work of the University including: the Edward H. Arnold Family Endowment for Germanic Studies, the Jeanne and Edward Arnold Library Endowment in Science and Engineering, and the Edward H. Arnold University Librarian.

E.H. is the former chairman, chief executive officer, and president of Arnold Industries, Inc. After selling Arnold Industries, he retained ownership of Arnold Logistics, where he served as chairman. Jeanne is a retired senior vice president of patient care services at Good Samaritan Hospital.

As the cost of journal and database subscriptions continues to rise, the Arnold Endowment continues to play a vital role in the development and maintenance of the science and engineering collection. The availability of these digital resources is crucial to the work of students at all levels, as well as University faculty, whose cutting edge research, heightened through Arnold Collection assets, covers topics from significant foundational research to new, innovative discoveries happening around the world.
